Soraya Cassia Ferreira Dias, from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, graduated from the medical school at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 1983, followed by a residency in pediatrics and a specialization in homeopathy.
Since 1986, she has been working as a pediatrician in SUS, Brazil’s public healthcare system.
She was the Medical Director and a member of the Medical Ethics Committee for João Paulo II Children’s Hospital from 2008-2013.
She has previously been vice-president (2006-2011) and president (2012-2015) of Médicos de Cristo (CMDA Brazil) and is currently on the board.
Since 2011, she has been a member of the Coordinating Group of the National Evangelical Network of Social Action (RENAS) in Brazil.
