General and Work Information
I am a lecturer at School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
I am a Pediatric Specialist at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital with expertise in the area of general pediatrics as well as HIV and tuberculosis management. I have had over 10 years experience managing and caring for children with tuberculosis and HIV infection. I was a member of the committee that drafted a guideline for management of Pediatric tuberculosis in Ghana.
I am also a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) childhood Tuberculosis working group and from 19th -30th August will serve as WHO consultant in reviewing Ethiopia Paediatric TB/HIV program. I also reviewed the World Health Organization (WHO) Manual for the Management of Childhood Tuberculosis in Resource limited countries.
I am the coordinator for postgraduate studies at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi, Ghana.
Christian Medical Fellowship (Students Fellowship) Roles
My association with CMF dates back to 1993 when I first entered the Medical School in Kumasi, Ghana. My first position on the executive board of the students’ fellowship was as University Hall representative in 1993. I moved on to serve as General Secretary (1994-1997) and President (1998-2000). I undertook many outreaches and missionary activities during this period. I also assisted in organizing the Doctors Fellowship during my student’s years. I also got to know Daryl Hackland during my student years and by extension ICMDA activities.
Ghana Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship (GCMDF)
After graduating from Medical School in 2000, I have associated with the local branch GCMDF serving as an organizer, secretary, vice President and President as very time points.
I became the National General Secretary from 2003- 2009. It was during my term as secretary that the National Fellowship had international recognition by ICMDA in 2006 at the Australia conference.
I served as the National Vice President from 2010-2014.
