Dr.Mesfin Beyero, Secretary, ICMDA East Africa Region
My name is Dr. Mesfin Beyero. I was born in June 10, 1968 and was brought up in a family of 9 children in a town called Dilla in Southern Ethiopia. I went to Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Medicine and graduated in 1993. In 1998 – 2000, I joined the University of Innsbruck, School of Public Health in Austria, and graduated with Masters Degree in Public Health. I have served for the last 18 years in government hospital, non-governmental organizations and UN agencies in different capacities. I have also been working as a freelance consultant within Ethiopia and other African countries.
I am married to a devoted Christian nurse called Martha Habte, and am a father of four beautiful children (2 Boys and 2 Girls), namely Mitsate (G), Natan (B), Nahom (B) and Meklit (G).
I came to know the Lord personally in 1986 while I was a second year student in the medical school. Ever since, I have been active in the Medical students’ Christian Fellowship and served the Lord in the choir and committee of the fellowship. After I graduated, I joined the Christian Medical Doctors and Dentists Fellowship and had served in the committee for six years. In the mean time, I served the Lord as the Area Student Representative (ASR) for the ICMDA Eastern Africa region, and in June 2010, was elected as the ICMDA East African regional secretary.
I have the aspiration for reaching out lost souls with the gospel all over the world. God sent Jesus who has presented Himself with love to pay the price of all mankind. There are billions around the world who have not yet given their life to Jesus and are deemed to eternal death and suffering. This is because of the deceitful strategy of Satan, weakness of the flesh and zeal for temporary pleasure and riches. As ICMDA, we all are responsible for spreading the good news and partake in the expansion of the Kingdom of the Lord by setting them free from the bondage of sin and influence of Satan with the power of the Word and the Holy Spirit. We are already sent by the Lord and are witnesses starting from Jerusalem (Acts 1:8), and as ICMDA, I believe that the fellow doctors are around us are our Jerusalem.
