Dr Soraya Cassia Ferreira Dias, from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais Medical School in 1983, followed by a residency in paediatrics and a specialisation in homeopathy. Since 1986, she has worked as a paediatrician in SUS, Brazil’s public healthcare system. She was the Medical Director and a member of the Medical Ethics Committee for João Paulo II Children’s Hospital from 2008-2013 and has been vice-president and president of Medicos de Cristo (CMDA Brazil) from 2006-2015. Since 2011, she has been a member of the Coordinating Group of the National Evangelical Network of Social Action (RENAS) in Brazil.
