Dr Herng-Der Chern graduated from National Taiwan University in 1983, completed his residence training in gastroenterology in 1990, and his Ph in pharmacology from University of Pittsburgh in 1994. He was the Chief Executive Director at the Centre for Drug Evaluation, regulating clinical drug trials for the Taiwan government. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer for Taiwan Supra Integration and Incubation Centre promoting new drug development in Taiwan. He is a standing board member of the Taiwan Christian Medical Association (TCMA) and is married to Hsiu-Wen Chen and they have two children, Joyce and Jason.
