Our Values

ICMDA's six values are the foundational principles that guide our actions, shape our culture, and define our identity:

Biblical, Missional, Equipping, Service, Unity & Diversity

These values are more than mere words; they are the foundations that our fellowship is built on; they describe what we do and how we do them - they inspire us daily and are integral to our mission and vision.

What are our foundations?

Biblical

Established on God’s word

We believe that God’s word, the Bible, is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

(Psalm 119:105; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17)

Missional

Building God’s Kingdom in medicine

We are Christ’s servants in seeking the coming of his Kingdom in all its fullness.

(Matthew 5:3, 10, 6:10,33, 28:19,20; Acts 1:8; Colossians 1:19; Revelation 21:1-4)

What do
we do?

Equipping

Training and resourcing mature disciples

We seek to help people grow into full maturity in Christ fulfilling all that he has planned for them personally and professionally.

(2 Corinthians 3:18; Ephesians 2:10, 4:15,16; Colossians 1:28)

Service

Demonstrating the love of Christ for the marginalised

We seek to care for the poor, sick, marginalised and oppressed knowing that they are all made in the image of God and precious in his sight.

(Psalm 82:3, 4; Isaiah 61:1; Matthew 25:40; Luke 4:18, 19; Acts 20:35)

How do we operate?

Unity

United in Christ in vision, mission, strategy and values

We seek to demonstrate our unity in the truth of the gospel demonstrating it in our love and care for one another and our partnership in his mission.

(John 13:34, 35, 17:20-23; Ephesians 4:3-6; Philippians 1:27, 2:1-4)

Diversity

Complementing each other in personality, experience, culture, gifts and skills

We honour and value every member of Christ’s body believing that they have an important and unique role to play in building his Kingdom.

(Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6, 12; Ephesians 4:3-6; 1 Peter 4:10, 11; Revelation 7:9,10)
