#125 Life in ‘Survival Mode’
With Dr Laura Wood
Danger, fear, conflict, and abuse have sadly impacted many of us, and are often a painful reality for our patients, family, and friends too. This session introduces how the incredible human brain and body adapts to threat, especially during the sensitive developmental window from before birth to around 26 years of age.
We will explore what developmental (psychological) trauma can look like, how stress and trauma can affect our biology, and how to support people living in ‘survival-mode’.
As we are all humans caring for other humans, this session aims to help us understand both ourselves and others better.
