#314 Is Christianity ‘conversion therapy’? 🗓

Around the world, advocates for a ban on LGBTQ ‘conversion therapy’ have adopted the technique of labelling Christian ethics “abusive” in order to persuade policy makers to pass laws against them.
Several jurisdictions now have conversion therapy laws. Others, including the UK and Ireland, are considering them. In parts of Australia the state is now issuing approved forms of prayer that are said to comply with conversion therapy bans, and instructing parents to ask children their pronouns.
Veteran Christian campaigner Simon Calvert will help us understand how we can help dispel the dangerous myths that threaten our freedoms.

Simon Calvert has been with The Christian Institute since qualifying as a solicitor in 1996 where he has applied his legal training to parliamentary work and to helping Christians discriminated against because of their faith.
Simon advises on the potential impact of legislation, drafts amendments to Bills and assists UK Parliamentarians with speeches. He has a particular interest in free speech and laws that inhibit public preaching of the gospel.
Simon has played a key role in many successful campaigns and speaks to the media as The CI’s spokesman.
A native of the North East of England, Simon is married with two children.
