#48 Family Medicine training in resource poor settings

With Dr Rebekah Zechariah

The webinar throws light on the need for Family Medicine to be the specialty of choice in primary care settings, particularly in low and middle-income countries. Models from higher resource settings can be studied but there is a great need to contextualize the same for the different regions, globally. The blended model of training in Family Medicine from Christian Medical College, India's, Distance Education department can help train large numbers of General Practitioners in their own settings, without having to displace them. Taking education to the place of need is the need of the hour.
