The burden of critical illness is disproportionately high in regions that lack trained clinicians and/or facilities that can care for such individuals.

Dr Lee will present his experience in providing a context-appropriate approach to critical care in resource-limited settings including training of national physicians and clinical officers.

Burton W. Lee is the Head of Medical Education and Global Critical Care in the Critical Care Medicine Department at the National Institutes of Health. He has made numerous contributions to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows both in the U.S. and Sub Saharan Africa.
