Invest in Christian doctors in Congo

A Key Leader

Lefutur Poléxine Ndziakomba, the eldest of five children from Northern Congo, was admitted to study medicine at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Marien Ngouabi University of Brazzaville, Republic of Congo in February 2021.

She has been a key ICMDA contact and been the lead in creating an association of Christian Medical Doctors in Congo Brazzaville alongside starting a group of Christian medical students who meet regularly.

Tribal Injustice

After completing her first year of studies, the state-funded university claimed her work was unsatisfactory. The school administration made it clear that:

  1. 'The faculty of Health Sciences ought to be a heritage for the children and close relatives of professors and doctors, and that those without such relations were not entitled to medical education; and that,
  2. Northerners (people originating from the North of Congo) are not meant to study medicine and should instead join the army.'

An Opportunity in Guinea Conakry

Although Lefutur has been prevented unjustly from studying in Congo, an opportunity has been provided in Guinea to continue her medical education at a low-cost independent university. Would you consider supporting her financially to complete her studies, which would enable her to continue the pioneering work she has begun in Congo.

Lefutur is well known within Francophone Africa region of ICMDA and comes with their commendation and support. Please get in touch with the team if you would like more information.
