#212 Avoiding burnout 🗓
With Marion Knell
“Long an occupational hazard among social workers, burnout is a growing problem among those on the front lines, including aid workers, medical professionals, legal services providers and resettlement volunteers.”
- Katia Savchuck (The Development Set) (Bright Magazine)
Those experiencing burnout are putting not just themselves but their clients in danger. In Christian circles, particularly, an overemphasis on servanthood has ignored other Biblical values such as rest and refreshment. This session will look at the causes of burnout and compassion fatigue, then explore preventative strategies for individuals and organisations.
